Senior Product Manager, Agent Productivity @Zendesk
Amisha is a Senior Product Manager on the Agent Workspace team, renowned for her dynamic trajectory through the tech industry and her passion for building customer-centered products. With a career shaped by perseverance, self-discovery, and a drive to bridge technology and real-world impact, Amisha brings a unique perspective to product management and team leadership.
Her journey into technology began with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. While coding initially presented significant challenges, Amisha’s tenacity saw her through. She entered the workforce determined to find her place but quickly realized that traditional development roles didn’t play to her strengths. A turning point came with her internship as an Android developer at Byju’s, where a product-focused interview revealed her natural talent for understanding and articulating product value to end-users. Despite excelling in discussions about product impact, Amisha found herself yearning for a role beyond coding, one that involved solving deeper customer problems.
Amisha’s pivot to Udacity—an innovative tech education platform—as a customer support specialist proved transformative. There, she thrived on directly helping learners, listening to their needs, and advocating on their behalf. The experience not only rekindled her enthusiasm for technology, but also introduced her to product management, a role that combined her technical background with her customer-centric mindset. Inspired by a product manager she worked alongside, Amisha pursued an MBA to deepen her skillset and facilitate her transition into product leadership.
Her break into product management came when she secured a coveted internship at Zendesk, thanks to a timely referral from a professor and her deep familiarity with the platform from her time at Udacity. Starting as an intern shadowing the Senior Product Manager for the writing experience (“composer”), she quickly proved her ability to translate customer insights into actionable features, driving significant improvements in agent functionality.
Promoted first to Associate Product Manager and then Product Manager, Amisha expanded her purview to include the ticket reading experience, launching key features and vision decks to streamline agent workflows. Her collaborative approach fostered strong relationships across engineering, design, and advocacy teams. In recent years, she has spearheaded AI-driven initiatives, partnering with the machine learning group to unify Zendesk’s AI assistance tools—culminating in the launch of “Copilot GA.”
As she marks her fourth year at Zendesk, Amisha reflects on a journey defined by growth, adaptability, and resilience. Outside of work, she has recently embraced motherhood, navigating sleepless nights and new challenges with the same curiosity and optimism she brings to her career. Each day, she remains energized by the opportunity to make a tangible difference for customers, shape the future of customer service platforms, and collaborate with visionary colleagues.
Amisha believes that careers in tech are not always linear—and that struggle, exploration, and pivots are all essential parts of finding one’s true path.
