Dr.  MUKUL SAXENA
President & CTO | Havells India Ltd.

Mukul has been a veteran in the field of R&D for over four decades and has pioneered the transformation of the R&D landscape of organizations spanning across a multitude of cultures. He is currently serving as President and Chief Technology Office for Havells Group heading its Center for Research and Innovation (CRI). The team is responsible for developing customer-centric innovative products, cutting across multiple business verticals of Havells along with common technology platforms relevant for these verticals. 

Prior to joining Havells, Mukul was heading Siemens Corporate Research – India Labs, leading diverse technologies relevant for Healthcare, Energy, and Industrial Automation domains. He worked with GE Global Research from 1989-97 and 2000-04. His last assignment with GE was as the Global Technology Leader for Advanced Mechanical Technologies based at the John F. Welch Technology Center, Bangalore, India. 

Mukul graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur with a B. Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering. He received his MS and PhD degrees from the University of Rochester, New York. He has contributed to over 30 technical publications in the area of Computational Mechanics and is co-editor of the book “Geometry and Optimization Techniques for Structural Design” published jointly by Computational Mechanics Publications (UK) and Elsevier (USA).

Mukul served as part of the academic senate of IIIT Bangalore from 2000 to 2018. He was nominated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development to serve on the Board of Governors for Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India for 2004-2005 term.
