Objectives and Key Result (OKRs) are gaining in popularity, and are becoming the standard strategy execution framework in many organizations worldwide. Due to a lack of standardization, it is not easy for product managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the methodology and how it can be embedded in common product management practices. As a result, it is just as challenging to make an informed decision about whether OKRs should be used in product management.
ABB has decided to make the use of OKRs voluntary, but education in the methodology mandatory. This speech will present the reasoning behind the decision and the learnings from the implementation so far.
