Madalasa leads the data science and data engineering for Oracle's Customer Experience Advertising and Marketing product pillar. An engineer, MBA and a Doctorate in Finance from IIMB, she brings different flavours of experience from across corporate, government, not-for-profit sectors and the start-up ecosystem. In her current corporate avatar, she builds privacy-preserving and ethically aware enterprise-scale systems in marketing automation. intelligent behavioural prediction, real time recommendation and hyper-personalisation.
In her academic stint, she has been a policy researcher leveraging large data sets in the urban space to solve developmental issues. She has been involved in policy studies and impact analysis for affordable housing initiatives in India, land market and property-taxation reforms and in insolvency reforms.
Madhu actively engages with students across management and tech disciplines, firmly believes in equity, inclusion and diversity and volunteers with women in tech organisations. She is a NASSCOM Deep Tech Club start up mentor, advisor with a handful of start up VC funds and ecosystems, a visiting faculty, mentor/ advisor for PhD candidates. She invests her time with ML meet-ups and as organiser/ reviewer with various ML/deep learning conferences and believes that data science should be democratised so that “People who are impacted by AI/ML outcomes have a vote in building those systems"
